- Easy to Prepare: Even if you’re a novice in the kitchen, you can whip up this tater tot casserole with ease. The preparation is straightforward, and the cooking process is relatively hands-off.
- A Crowd Pleaser: It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t enjoy a plate of this cheesy, meaty goodness. Serve it up at your next gathering, and watch it disappear.
Ingredients You Need
- Lean ground beef – This dish is very rich so using a lean ground beef will help keep it from being greasy and adding to that richness.
- Onion – I use about 3/4 cup of chopped yellow onion.
- Campbell’s Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup – You can also make your own, if you’d rather not use a can.
- Worcestershire sauce – A little bit of this sauce adds a lot of flavor to the filling.
- Seasonings – garlic powder, salt, ground black pepper
- Frozen tater tots – There’s no need to thaw the tots before putting them on the casserole.
- Shredded cheddar cheese – If you want to mix it up, you can use another type of good melting cheese, like Mozzarella or Colby Jack
- Green onion – for garnish, this is optional
Helpful Tips
- Use Quality Ingredients: Selecting lean ground beef and good quality cheese can elevate the flavors of this easy tater tot casserole.
- Don’t Overcook: Keep an eye on the baking time to ensure the tater tots don’t become overly crisp and the cheese doesn’t burn.
- Personalize Your Dish: Feel free to add in other ingredients that you enjoy, such as diced bell peppers or a touch of hot sauce for a little kick.
