This Halloween Skull Lasagna Dip is a bubbling, cheesy pasta dip served straight from a spooky skull dish, tomato sauce and gooey melted mozzarella practically daring your guests to dig in. It’s the kind of appetizer that gets people talking before they’ve even taken their first bite, and it disappears fast once they do.

It comes together with pantry staples like jarred sauce and pasta, so there’s no complicated technique involved, just simple layering and a quick simmer. The combination of ricotta and two rounds of mozzarella gives you pockets of creamy, melty cheese in every scoop, making it every bit as satisfying as a big plate of spaghetti.
Helpful Tips
- Cook the macaroni just to al dente: Since the pasta continues to soften as it heats through with the sauce and cheese, slightly undercooking it on the stovetop keeps it from turning mushy by the time it’s ready to serve.
- Don’t stir in the ricotta: Dropping spoonfuls on top rather than mixing it in creates little creamy pockets throughout the dip instead of blending it into the sauce, which gives you that classic lasagna-style texture in every bite.
- Use a fun serving dish: Get into a festive atmosphere by using a fun serving dish like this Halloween skull dish.
