These Air Fryer Caprese Chicken Breasts look like you put in a lot more effort than you actually did. Juicy chicken breasts topped with melty mozzarella, a thick slice of ripe tomato, a drizzle of balsamic glaze, and a handful of fresh basil leaves, all ready in under 30 minutes thanks to your air fryer.

It is light enough to feel fresh and bright, but satisfying enough to be a complete dinner on its own. A drizzle of store-bought balsamic glaze and a few torn basil leaves at the end elevate the whole dish into something truly special, and the cleanup is almost nothing. Whether you are cooking for two on a Tuesday or serving guests on the weekend, this one is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
Helpful Tips
- Use evenly sized chicken breasts: The cook time is based on medium chicken breasts, so if yours are very thick, you may need a few extra minutes. If they vary wildly in size, thinner ones can dry out before thicker ones are done, so try to match them up or pound them to an even thickness.
- Use fresh mozzarella for best results: Pre-sliced fresh mozzarella melts beautifully and has a creamier, richer texture than shredded low-moisture mozzarella. It also releases just enough moisture to keep things luscious rather than rubbery.
- Check the internal temp: Every air fryer cooks differently so make sure to check the internal temperature so that the chicken doesn’t get overcooked.
