This bright green punch recipe is perfect for your next Christmas party or family movie night with the Grinch. This punch is fruity, citrusy, and sweet, thanks to the addition of pineapple sherbet and fruit punch.
This recipe makes 12 servings of green punch, depending on your serving size, which is great for a small gathering. It’s also simple to double or triple.
I love how this green Grinch punch comes together in 5 minutes and requires no special mixing equipment. If you have children who want to help with food preparation, this is an excellent choice because it is both simple and fun to make.
These Grinch chocolate bombs are fun for a party. Use the same little red candy hearts.
Ingredients To Use

- Sprite: You can use Sprite, 7-up, or your favorite lemon and lime soda if you want to.
- Green Berry Rush Hawaiian Punch: The bright green color of the kiwi strawberry flavored juice drink is perfect for preparing Grinch punch.
- Pineapple Juice: Optional. Using this provides a great tropical flavor, if this isn’t your thing though you can avoid using it. It can also turn your green punch into orange punch.
- Pineapple Sherbet: We are using pineapple sherbet here. You could use vanilla ice cream, lime sherbet, or sorbet as well. Whatever flavor you can find and enjoy. But try to keep with the color scheme to keep the punch green.
- Red Sugar Sprinkles, optional: This is for rimming the glass. It looks great, but feel free to skip it if you don’t have the time.
- Garnish: This is the fun part. We are using small red heart sprinkles for the Grinch’s tiny heart. But if you can’t find them you could use maraschino cherries.
How to Make Grinch Punch
Step 1: Add ingredients to a pitcher
Start by adding half of the pineapple sherbet to a punch bowl or drink pitcher. Pour half the Sprite and Green Berry Rush Hawaiian punch in on top of the sherbet and stir until it is combined and the sherbet dissolved. A nice creamy foam should top the punch.

Step 2: Rim the glass
To rim the glass, add a tablespoon of honey to a plate and the red sugar sprinkles to another plate. Dip the glass into the honey and then into the red sugar sprinkles.

Step 3: Serve
To serve ladle punch into the glass and top it with either a maraschino cherry or a red heart sprinkle.

This recipe makes 2 complete batches (both do not fit in a punch bowl). Once the punch starts to get low, refill the punch bowl with the remaining ingredients.
Do I Need a Punch Bowl?
If you’re serving this punch in a large batch for a party, it’s really best to have a punch bowl. I like this one that you can get on Amazon. It’s heavy duty plastic so it won’t break and it’s easier to carry.
If you don’t have a punch bowl, it’s fine. You can serve it in a pitcher. You might just need to make it in batches so you can serve everyone at the party. We sometimes affix these Grinch stickers on the front of the pitcher for fun.
Helpful Tips
- You can easily double or triple this recipe for a crowd.
- If you want to change things up a little, use Orange Juice or Pineapple Juice.
- Just before serving, rim the glasses with the red sugar sprinkles so that the sugar does not dissolve completely while the glass sits. Alternatively, you can leave a plate of honey and sprinkles by the punch bowl so guests can rim their own glass.
- If you’re serving the punch in a punch bowl, add extra scoops of sherbet or ice cubes to keep it chilled longer.
- You can also serve this punch in a pitcher, if you don’t have a punch bowl.

Storing Information
- The punch does not need to be refrigerated, but it’s only really good for a few hours after it’s mixed up, because of the soda carbonation. It’s not good to keep any leftovers.
- The best thing to do is make small batches of punch, so you don’t waste any of the ingredients. You can always keep the separate ingredients, but you can’t really keep the mixed punch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I Make Grinch Punch With Alcohol?
Yes! Before serving, add 1 cup of your preferred vodka or rum. You could also add Midori to add more green color.
What if I don’t have a punch bowl?
This punch is made in 2 batches for a punch bowl. If you don’t have a punch bowl, you can mix it up in a pitcher instead. It will make 4 pitchers full.

I made this for all the kids at our family Christmas celebration. They loved it!
I thought it would be fun to take this to a new years eve celebration I was having with some friends. It’s just too cute not to right? I have to say we ended up putting vodka in it since there were no kids there and then topping it with whipped cream. Everyone liked it so much I think it might be comething I do every year. Thanks for the fun recipe!!
So great to hear that, Rebecca.
My kids like this alot and surprisingly I did too.
I haven’t seen candy hearts like that. Where can I get them?
The easiest place to get them is on Amazon, but you can also find these type of sprinkles at the grocery store around Christmas or Valentine’s day.
