Mini hot dogs

This is the appetizer you make when you’re short on time but still want something that feels like an event, since setting up a little condiment bar instantly turns it into an interactive snack. You can customize the toppings however you like, so it’s easy to keep everyone happy whether they want classic ketchup and mustard or something more adventurous like crispy onions.

Helpful Tips

  • Get the right buns: Look for actual slider buns not the sweet rolls that you have to cut in half. Slider buns have more surface area and will make a better bun.
  • Set up a topping bar: Lay out your condiments in small bowls with spoons so guests can build their own hot dogs exactly how they like them, which keeps the line moving at a party.
  • Keep the sausages warm: If you’re serving a crowd, transfer the heated sausages to a slow cooker on the warm setting so they stay hot without drying out while people help themselves.
