Homemade coffee liqueur is one of those things that’s surprisingly easy to make and totally worth the little bit of effort. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a rich, flavorful liqueur that rivals anything you can buy at the store. It’s perfect for sipping after dinner, mixing into cocktails, or gifting to friends during the holidays.

Why make your own? First, you get to control the flavor and sweetness. Second, it’s a fun project that yields a pretty impressive result. And finally, it’s way more affordable than store-bought options, especially if you enjoy using it regularly. You’ll wonder why you didn’t start making it sooner.

Helpful Tips
- Use a strong, dark coffee for the best flavor. Lighter brews can get lost behind the sweetness and alcohol.
- Don’t rush the cooling step before adding the Everclear. If the mixture is too warm, it can cause the alcohol to evaporate.
- Letting it rest for at least two weeks is key. It gives the flavors time to mellow and blend together into a smooth, rich liqueur.
