Homemade Coffee Liqueur

With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a rich, flavorful liqueur that rivals anything you can buy at the store.

Ingredients

  • cups strong brewed dark coffee
  • pounds light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 750 ml Everclear 120 proof

Instructions

  • In a large pot, combine the coffee and brown sugar. Stir over low heat until the sugar is fully dissolved. Do not boil.
  • Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Slowly add the Everclear and mix thoroughly.
  • Pour into sterilized bottles or jars. Seal tightly.
  • Let it rest for at least 2 weeks in a cool, dark place to mellow.
