Christmas Rice Krispies Treats
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 6 tablespoons butter cut into 6 pieces
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 10 ounces mini marshmallows about 4 cups
- 1 cup Christmas M&Ms divided
- 1/2 cup holiday sprinkles divided
- 4 ounces white chocolate wafers
Instructions
- Line an 8×8” pan with parchment paper. Lightly spray with oil or nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
- In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, gently stirring, so the butter melts evenly. The butter will begin to foam and turn golden. Turn off the heat. Stir in the vanilla.
- Return the pot to low heat. Add the marshmallows ans stir constantly until they’re all melted. You can turn off the heat about halfway through and the residual heat will melt the rest.
- Add in the Rice Krispies, 2 cups at a time, and gently stir until combined.
- Add in half of the M&Ms and holiday sprinkles. Stir just until incorporated or the M&Ms will start to melt. Pour the mixture into the 8×8 pan. Lightly wet your hands and gently pat the mixture down to even it out.
- Put the white chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 15-second intervals until melted.
- Use a spoon to drizzle about half of the white chocolate over the treats, or add the melted chocolate to a zip top bag and snip the corner to drizzle the chocolate over the top of the treats.
- Sprinkle on remaining M&Ms and sprinkles. Then continue to drizzle the chocolate over the top.
