- 1 head of cauliflower approx. 4 cups of floret
- 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
- 1/3 cup honey
- sesame seeds, green onion garnish
Wash and cut the cauliflower into bite-sized pieces.
In a bowl, whisk the eggs until combined. Set aside.
On a large plate or bowl combine the breadcrumbs, sesame seeds, ground ginger, garlic powder, and salt. Stir to combine.
Dip each piece of cauliflower into the egg then place in the breadcrumb mixture, rolling them around to coat completely.
Place the cauliflower in the air fryer basket in a single layer, not touching each other. You might have to cook them in batches. Cook at 350º F (175º C) for 15 minutes. They don’t need to be flipped halfway through.
While the cauliflower is cooking, make the sauce. Mix the chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, fresh ginger, and honey in a large bowl and mix well.
When the cauliflower is done remove it from the air fryer and dump it all into the bowl with the sauce. Toss or stir it up to get all the pieces coated.
Top with sesame seeds and green onions and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
- If the sauce is too spicy for you, add more honey. The extra sweetness will help balance out the heat.
- If you don't have chili garlic sauce, you can use Thai sweet chili sauce instead. Since the Thai sauce is already sweet, you may need to reduce the honey or leave it out altogether.
- Lightly spray the cauliflower pieces with cooking oil to help them crisp up while air frying.
- For the best results, toss the cauliflower in sweet chili sauce just before serving to keep them crispy.
