Ingredients

  • 1 can Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls With Cream Cheese Icing 5 or 8 Count
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Cream cheese frosting included in cinnamon roll can

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a baking pan.
  • Open the cinnamon rolls and place them into the baking pan.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, then add the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Whisk and simmer until slightly caramelized, about 3 minutes.
  • Pour the heavy cream evenly over the top of the cinnamon rolls, then pour on the butter mixture.
  • Bake for 17-20 minutes, until the rolls are cooked through. Remove from the oven.
  • Spread the cream cheese frosting over the top of the rolls and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use any brand or size cinnamon rolls you like, just make sure to space them quite a bit in the baking pan so they have room to expand.
  • Allow the cinnamon rolls to cool slightly before frosting them. If not, the frosting will melt and glaze the cinnamon buns instead of remaining on top.
  • The great part about this recipe is that you can adjust the bits to your liking. You can add more butter and brown sugar, or leave it off entirely. If you like more cinnamon, feel free to sprinkle on more.
  • You can easily expand this recipe as needed, which I sometimes do. Grands! rolls come in a package of 5, so you could make a small or large batch.
