Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Grease an 8x8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the chocolate chips and stir until melted and smooth.
  • Add the mini marshmallows to the saucepan and stir until melted and smooth.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Add the Rice Krispies cereal to the saucepan and stir until well coated with the chocolate marshmallow mixture.
  • Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish and use a spatula to press it down evenly.
  • Let the chocolate Rice Krispies treats cool and set at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
  • Once cooled and set, cut the treats into squares and serve.
