Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1 pound 80/20 ground beef
  • 4 slices Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Tortilla strips

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix the chipotle powder, paprika, garlic powder, salt, cumin, and black pepper.
  • In another bowl, mix the mayo with 1 teaspoon of the seasoning blend.
  • In another bowl, mash the avocados with lime juice and 1/2 teaspoon of the seasoning blend.
  • Form the ground beef into 4 patties. Season with the remaining seasoning blend.
  • Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill burgers, adding cheese on the second side, about 4-5 minutes per side, to your desired doneness. Remove and let rest for 5 minutes.
  • Heat the buns on the grill.
  • Add some spicy mayo to the bottom bun. Top with burger patty, and a heaping spoonful of guacamole. Top it off with the tortilla strips for crunch.
