- 1 pound sirloin or chuck roast cubed
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil if browning the meat
- 1 pound potatoes cut in chunks
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 teaspoon steak seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup salted butter sliced (1 stick)
- 2 green onions sliced, for garnish
Optional: Heat oil in a skillet until hot. Add the steak cubes and brown to sear on all sides, about 2 minutes per side. You’re not aiming to cook it all the way through, just brown it. You can omit this step if you choose.
Add all of the ingredients, except the green onions, to the slow cooker. Mix everything together.
Cook on HIGH for 3 hours or LOW for 5 hours. If the meat and potatoes are not sufficiently tender at this point, continue cooking for another 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Serve garnished with green onions.
