Pre-heat the oven to 400° F (205C).
Season the wings with salt and pepper and place them on a baking tray lined with foil or a baking mat. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove and flip over the wings. Bake for another 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine the sauce ingredients, except for the cornstarch, in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Once boiling, add the cornstarch and cool on a low boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
Remove the wings from the oven and baste them liberally with the General Tso sauce.
Turn your oven to broil, with the top rack lowered to the 2nd row. Broil the wings for 3 minutes. Remove the tray and slather the sauce on the other side of the wings. Broil again.
Once the wings have gotten a light char on each side, remove them from the oven. If you like more sauce, put the wings in a bowl, add the remaining sauce, and toss to coat.
