Ingredients

  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts 4 small breasts
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil finely chopped
  • Parmesan cheese grated, for serving

Instructions

  • Pour the tomatoes, sauce, garlic, salt, Italian seasoning, basil, and pepper into the slow cooker. Stir well
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the cream and cornstarch and add to the slow cooker.
  • Set the chicken into the sauce and make sure it’s covered.
  • Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours or until the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165°F.
  • Stir in the basil. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary. Serve with Parmesan.
